I have two small children who mean the world to me, and I would do anything for them, just as I would for an animal in pain because I believe they deserve to be treated with love and respect as well. I think of how fortunate my babies are to have me and my wife, and all I want is the same for every stray I help rescue… to have parents who care for them and love them.

I got off the train in Galati and Dana picked me up, she drove me to the shelter and it was so nice to catch up with her since it was almost 2 years than my last visit. At the shelter I was greeted with a lot of wagging tails and kisses. ROLDA dogs are truly happy dogs and you can see that they are well taken care of because otherwise they wouldn’t be so happy and search for attention. But with that said we need to remember that a life in a kennel is not a life for a dog and we need to work harder to get these lovely dogs to their forever home. Dana showed me the vet clinic and all the improvements that have been done since last time I visited. The sun went down and Dana showed me where I would spend the night… After a good night sleep a lovely ROLDA staff drove me to Bucharest airport. I can’t wait to do this again, meet all the dogs, the nice staff and hopefully if we all work together bring dogs to their forever homes!

I just wanted to express my deep admiration for the work you and your helpers do in Romania. You have chosen a life work that involves dreadful sadness and cruelty and at times you must feel overwhelmed by it. I do try to help as much as I can.

I’m proud to help so many suffering dogs by dedicating just a few minutes a day raising awareness about ROLDA and their mission to end the plight of stray dogs in Romania. Your letters are encouraging and I agree with you about what a sad state animals have to live in due to no fault of their own. Thank you for making their lives better. They bring so much joy and love to us. I am very grateful for the work you all do; it is a privilege to be a part of it.

Very many thanks for your kind words, however, it is supporters who should be thanking you Dana, the Founder, and your rescue teams for your tireless work in helping these poor creatures who share our planet and are so cruelly treated by so many of the human race.

I would like to thank you and your staff for blessing us with such a wonderful dog, Cookie is adorable. We got him in September and as the days passed settling in, delightful characteristics unfolded. His excited pant on greeting you, his nose erect then breaking out into a funny bellowing howl. Wriggling on his back contentedly alleviating his itch and his big paws shaking about, he resembled Baloo the hilarious gentle bear in the cartoon Jungle Book! Our Baloo had landed and certainly won a big place in our hearts! A BIG THANK YOU!

Love you guys. The gracious, loving, kind and honest spirit of your organization is so evident in all your communications. I pray that you will be there to continue your marvelous work for the animals and to spread the word to all around about how great the rewards are when you help an animal in distress.

Until the moment I started working with ROLDA, I didn’t think that the animals on the street live such a hard life and can be subject to some unbelievable abuses. Gradually, I started to know the dogs, their rescue stories and how they got into the ROLDA shelter. I appreciate all the efforts that Dana makes and the devotion she has, not many people would do this for some animals on the street. I’m glad I can help, even if my help is insignificant for their needs, I just hope it matters at least a little! Little by little it becomes much!
